Details:

It has an internal mercury switch that closes the circuit when deck lid is opened thereby lighting light. It fits into the rectangular opening with little pilot screw hole drilled next to that is pre punched on underside of all Ford, mercury Lincoln product deck lids from mid sixties up. The wire is still flexible and it has external insulation where exits deck lid. The unit is completely self contained.

The unit grounds to deck lid. A correct original option is hard to find. Please see my other offers for more parts thanks looking. Add this rare item to your cars options.

The unit is bench tested to be in excellent working condition. It came off a 1971 Ford Maverick but will fit other model years of the era with similar body styles such as tiring fair lane galaxies comet cyclone Thunderbird and many others. The unit includes a new 631 bulb. This is a fomoco original factory trunk light for all 1970 or 1971 Ford Maverick model's.

The two 2 plastic wire retainers are still attached. Installation tip: your car may already have the necessary connector built into wiring harness but if it doesn't, simply run a single lead from underside of dash tapped door light switch - green w yellow stripe to trunk area. This is not an aftermarket item but the original fomoco part that came from factory when trunk luggage compartment light was specified. Look for it closely on yours, its there.

The Ford part on original paper tag is D1DB-13A756-aa which are correct numbers for a 71 Maverick.
