Original 'Autolite' pop-open gas cap base can be re chromed for show quality. No real pitting on the outside. There is some light pitting inside the this an original ford part.

No corrosion. Removed from a 1967 Mustang convertible. This base is in good original condition.

There is a rub mark on the bottom edge and are age freckles in chrome. Still has bright chrome. The base is cast Autolite and C7ZA-9A112-b.

The inside looks great. No cracks or splits. Overall, this is a good original pop-open gas cap base.
