Pros of buying C5SZ-2454, C5SA-2454, and C5SA-2454-A disc brake pedals for 1965-1967 Thunderbird hardtop and landau convertibles:1. Improved braking performance: These pedals are designed with disc brakes, which provide better stopping power compared to drum brakes, especially in emergency situations.
2. Original fit and finish: These parts are specifically made for 1965-1967 Thunderbirds, ensuring a perfect fit and an OEM-like appearance.
3. Wider brake surface: Discs provide a larger brake surface area, which can lead to longer brake life and improved performance, especially in high-performance applications.
4. Improved heat dissipation: Disc brakes are more efficient at dissipating heat, reducing the risk of brake fade and improving overall braking performance.
Cons of buying C5SZ-2454, C5SA-2454, and C5SA-2454-A disc brake pedals for 1965-1967 Thunderbird hardtop and landau convertibles:1. Higher cost: Discs and disc brake systems are generally more expensive than drum brake systems.
2. More complex installation: Disc brake systems can be more complex to install than drum brake systems, especially if the vehicle has never had disc brakes before.
3. Potential for noise: Disc brakes can sometimes produce more noise than drum brakes, especially during initial use or when the brake pads are worn out.
4. Requires specific tools: Installing disc brakes may require specific tools, such as calipers and rotors, which may not be readily available.
Conclusion:If you're looking to improve the braking performance of your 1965-1967 Thunderbird hardtop or landau convertible, upgrading to C5SZ-2454, C5SA-2454, or C5SA-2454-A disc brake pedals can be a great investment. The improved braking performance, original fit and finish, and wider brake surface area are all significant benefits. However, the higher cost, more complex installation, potential for noise, and need for specific tools are important considerations to keep in mind. Ultimately, the decision to upgrade your brakes depends on your budget, your preference for braking performance, and your willingness to invest the time and effort required for installation.
Recommendation:If you're looking to upgrade your Thunderbird's brakes and are willing to invest the time and effort to install the system yourself, then C5SZ-2454, C5SA-2454, or C5SA-2454-A disc brake pedals can be a great choice. However, if you're looking for a more cost-effective solution, or if you're not confident in your ability to install the system yourself, then you may want to consider other options, such as upgrading your brake pads or rotors, or sticking with the original drum brake system. Ultimately, it's important to weigh the pros and cons and make a decision that's right for your specific situation.
