Chevrolet part number for this wheel is metal parts on are straight, but some pitting present see pics. Rim might also possibly be re-cast. The tan plastic inserts in hand grip have some age checking, but should be usable as-is. As stated, a correct accessory for all '40 Chevrolet cars 16in.
This is an original 1940 Chevrolet deluxe steering wheel. Despite cracking, rim is basically intact, and wheel should still be very steerable. This original spinner steering wheel is clean and straight, but usual cracking separation present in outer composite rim see pics. Also, back in the day, undoubtedly, these neat steering wheels would have ended up on other years of early Chevy's, too.
